Snow play including tobogganing, tubing and sledding
Thredbo does not have a dedicated, safe snow play, tobogganing, tubing or sledding area in the resort. Therefore, tobogganing is prohibited in Thredbo.
We acknowledge that tobogganing, tubing and sledding is a popular winter activity however the safety of our guests and staff is our number one concern.
An observed trend of guests taking toboggans and miscellaneous snow sliding equipment onto ski runs has increased the risk of:
- A collision with another sled, vehicle, skier or snowboarder;
- Loss of control of the equipment;
- Falling off of the equipment; and
- Collision with natural and man-made objects
This policy includes any area under the ownership or control of Thredbo Resort and applies to all members of the public, staff, sublessees and volunteers.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
