Once you have submitted an application you will receive an auto generated email confirming that we have received your application. All applications are reviewed within 14 days and you will receive an email from the Recruitment team informing you of the next step.

If successful, you will be invited to an online interview with a supervisor from the corresponding department.

All interviews are conducted via Teams in order to build a relationship and personal connection for both you and us. Plus, you get to ask any questions about the job and get clear expectations of what it would be like as part of the Thredbo team. You will be invited to select a time slot to attend your interview.

Once you have completed the interview process, you will take part in our onboarding program which introduces the resort, our policies and the staff handbook. After you have fulfilled and supplied all the necessary paperwork, it’s time to plan your mountain move. We will link you to accommodation options and provide you with further times for department inductions and start dates.

All employees must supply legal proof of eligibility to work in Australia, this will be required during accepting an offer of employment.

Employees of Thredbo must legally be entitled to work in Australia from your start date until the end of September. You must be eligible for either a Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462) or a Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417). For information please visit the Australian Department of Home Affairs website.

The most popular type of visa to work at Thredbo for young adults is the ‘Working Holiday Maker Visa’ for those who want to extend a holiday and work in Australia to fund it.

Unfortunately, working at Thredbo does not qualify as ‘specialised work’ in regional Australia.

It is smart to be covered in case of an emergency when at Thredbo and we strongly suggest that you do your research and find a level of health insurance that suits your needs. The costs of medical bills and travel can easily exceed $1000.

Ambulance cover can be purchased for as little as $25 from any private health fund, and is well worth the small additional expense. Ambulance cover is the most basic and minimum cover that you should look into having when at Thredbo. It covers the cost of transport in an ambulance in an emergency.

If you already have ambulance cover, but are not from NSW, please check the conditions of the cover for NSW on your policy.

For those travelling from overseas please make sure that your travel insurance covers ambulance and hospital for winter sports.

Private health insurance can also include hospital and extras.

• Hospital cover can help with some of the costs of staying in hospital and what is covered depends on the level of cover you have.
• Extras cover is for out-of-hospital medical treatments. This can include services such as physiotherapy, optical and dental.
