Gravity goodness…get in your final laps at the Mountain Bike Closing Weekend
Posted on 27 Apr, 2021 in Festivals & Events
Finish off 30 years of Gravity with a BANG! After a huge summer of riding we’re capping off the good times with a stack of dope events on and off the mountain this weekend.
The Thredbo Mountain Bike Park is primed and ready for some flight time with cooler temps forecast to create tacky conditions all weekend. Clock up the final laps with your mates on crowd favourite’s Kosciuszko Flow Trail and Cannonball Downhill and hit the jumps and features in the Valley Terminal Park and Little Beauty Jumps Park.
On Sunday dial the banter to ten for Chainless Champs. Remove your chain, put on your craziest costume and channel your inner Aaron Gwin as you pump and hold speed down the Kosciusko Flow Trail from the Easy Street exit to the Valley Terminal base station. With overall points of the line, competitors will be leaving it all on the course to take out the Thredbo Gravity Series crown.
This event is guaranteed to be a laugh with prizes for the Best Dressed Competitor…registrations close 5PM Friday, click here to register and get in on the action.

After the race head to the Kosciuszko Room at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel for the Chainless Champ presentations and take part in the fashion parade for your chance to claim a prize. Plus, enjoy the end of our 30 years of Gravity celebrations on the big screen.

Off the mountain the vibes keep on rolling with plenty of entertainment to get around. Chill on the Local Pub deck from 2pm for tunes by Chekrah on Saturday and DJ Max on Sunday.
Feeling thirsty? On Saturday celebrate all things beer at the Kosciuszko Craft Beer Dinner. This event is for the beer lovers with four hearty courses each paired with two delicious brews and hosted by the proud brewers and industry aficionados themselves. Tickets are still available and cost $99 per person…call the Thredbo Alpine Hotel on 02 6459 4200 to book.
We’re set for a banger weekend of gravity goodness…come get it!

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
