Getting Here & Parking
Thredbo is located in the heart of the Kosciuszko National Park in Snowy Mountains, NSW and is conveniently accessed by car, bus or plane.
Roughly 5.5 hours’ drive from either Sydney or Melbourne and 2.5 hours drive from Canberra, Thredbo offers both day and overnight car parking facilities.
First Day In Thredbo
From the car park, make your way along Friday Flat Drive to the main hubs in Thredbo:
- Friday Flat (2 mins walk) – access to Friday Flat beginner area, Snowsports meeting area, Easy Does It Chairlift & Gunbarrel Chairlift
- Valley Terminal (12 mins walk) – access to the Alpine Coaster, Kosciuszko Chairlift, Merritts Gondola & Snowgums Chairlift
- Thredbo Village (12 mins walk) – restaurants, bars, shops & accommodation

MyThredbo Card Kiosks
On arrival your first step is to pick up your MyThredbo card, your personal key to Thredbo. The 24-7 MyThredbo Card Kiosks are located near the base of the chairlifts at Friday Flat and Valley Terminal.
Offering ease and convenience, your MyThredbo Card is linked to your Thredbo profile so whenever you buy a lift pass or lesson it will be loaded onto this card.
Trails & Mountain Map
Our mountain has trails for all abilities and Australia’s only alpine gondola to get you up the mountain with ease.
Discover convenient equipment rental at the base of the mountain, places to eat and drink on and off the mountain, plus all of Thredbo’s amenities on one map.
What's On
After a big day on the mountain, there is always something happening in Thredbo. Enjoy on-mountain events, live music, festivals, kids school holiday activities, dining and more.
New Alpine Coaster!
Race down the Southern Hemisphere’s first-ever year-round Alpine Coaster! Thrill-seekers and leisure cruisers, will be able to control their speed of up to 40km/h as they travel along a mix of uphill and downhill tracks.
