Winter is well and truly here at Thredbo Resort! The mountain is covered in white, snow has been falling all the way down to the village and snowmaking has officially begun for 2023.

Thredbo has received some amazing early-season snowfalls in the past week.

Excitement started building mid-last week when a storm covered the mountain with a dusting of white.

Then as the weekend rolled in, the forecast got even better! Blizzard conditions throughout the weekend brought lots more early season snowfall and the temperature on Saturday night was cold enough to kick start our snowmaking operations for this winter.

We make more enhancements to our world-class snowmaking fleet each year. This winter, we have added a new pipeline gun on Sundowner plus four new fan guns on the infamous Supertrail and last winter, we added six new fixed snowmaking guns and four mobile snowmaking guns to its fleet. The mobile snowmaking guns really enhanced our ability to make snow across Friday Flat and the entire resort last winter.
The snow kept falling all the way down to the village on Sunday and there are no signs of this cold front going anywhere yet. There is more snow and snowmaking conditions in the forecast for the coming days with temperatures set to drop as low as minus seven today.
