Family Flare Run is now finished for the season, we look forward to seeing you all again next winter!
Experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding under the night sky on Friday Flat, illuminated by your own twinkling LED flare. Once everyone has reached the bottom, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky.
New this year, parents are invited to join the flare run, making this an unforgettable event for the whole family!
Running Every Thursday evening from 27 June to 19 September, this is the perfect way to cap off a great day of skiing and snowboarding.
Please note that registration is mandatory for both adults and children. Only parents of participating children are eligible to attend the event.
Family Flare Run is weather dependent.
While this event is free, online registrations and a MyThredbo card are essential. Numbers are limited.

FAQs
- Children aged 3 to 14 years
- Children aged 3 to 6 years must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years and over
- Up to 2 parents allowed to accompany children
- Parents are encouraged to participate as well as assisting siblings aged 15-17
To take part in the Flare Run, you must be at least a level 4 skier.
- Level 4: I finish my turns with the skis parallel but I still have a snowplough for most of my turn, on all green slopes. Refer to: Know Your Ski & Snowboard Level | Thredbo Snowsports
You can purchase flares (lights) from Thredbo Retail store at Friday Flat or out the front of the Bistro.
No, kids will not be allowed to ski with poles.
No, foot passengers are not allowed.
