This will be the fifth time this walk up Mt Kosciuszko has taken place – in memory of much-loved midwife Torie Finnane and to recognise those special health workers who help women and babies when they need it most.
The Torie Finnane Foundation operates to support midwives and special care nursery staff across regional NSW.
In 2025, all funds raised through this walk will enable a centralized foetal monitoring system supporting midwives across Southern NSW —Torie’s home region. This area includes Goulburn, Bega, Yass and right down to Thredbo and surrounding areas. This system will support midwives to deliver critical care to 3,000 women and babies annually and lessen the burden on doctors and hospitals.
TFF would love for anyone to join this family-friendly event. In 2024, there were 200 walkers including 100 kids with the youngest registered walker 2 years old!
All registered walkers will receive a TFF Frank Green Water Bottle, TFF t-shirt, TFF trucker hat, post-walk BBQ/drinks and Thredbo Lift Pass.
There will be a post-walk BBQ along the Thredbo River where food and drinks will be provided.
