Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or new to the game, there’s no denying that the New South Wales Snowy Mountains are home to some of Australia’s most jaw-dropping hikes. This is why we believe that Thredbo is the perfect home-base for anyone looking to tick some hikes off their adventure bucket list! Thredbo offers so many amazing hike experiences that allow you to level up your hike experience, with some making their debut this year!
Snowies Alpine Hike Experience
Introducing Thredbo’s first ever multi-day hike experience on the NSW Government’s brand new Snowies Alpine Walk. The Snowies Alpine Walk is a 55km trail that connects Thredbo to Bullocks Flat, winding through the iconic Main Range in the Kosciuszko National Park.
With multi-day hikes quickly becoming popular amongst hikers of all backgrounds, Thredbo is so excited to be offering an avenue to experience a multi-day hike without compromising on comfort. Take everything you know about multi-day hikes, subtract the camping and heavy packs and add private transfers, accommodation and all meals provided.
With your choice between a 44km 3-night experience or a 24km 2-night experience this new product is perfect for seasoned hikers and beginner hikers alike! Each day, guests will enjoy a buffet breakfast at Cascades before heading out to trailheads in a brand new Defender. On the trail, guests will learn from their experienced guides all about the endemic flora and fauna and enjoy a packed lunch from the Thredbo Bakery. At the end of the day, guests will head back to Thredbo in their private Defender for dinner and a cosy night at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel.

Guided Tours To Mt. Kosciuszko
The hike to Australia’s highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko, is rightfully one of the most well-known hikes in the Snowy Mountains. Offering incredible views from the top of Australia at 2,228m elevation, the bragging rights earned by conquering Australia’s highest peak is just a bonus to this incredible hike.
While this hike has been a favourite of visitors and locals alike for years now, new this year, guests have the option to enhance their bucket list experience by booking a guided tour for the same price as a scenic lift pass. With the scenic lift pass included in the price, this addition invites you to gain an understanding of the Australian Main Range at no extra cost compared to a self-guided walk to the summit.

Alpine Lakes Hike
Visit Australia’s 5 highest Alpine Lakes in one of Thredbo’s most scenic hikes! A 21km return journey through Australia’s iconic Main Range, the Alpine Lakes Hike is truly unforgettable.
Starting in the Thredbo Village, guests can enjoy a 15 minute scenic ride on the Kosciuszko Chairlift before heading out on their walk. With the help of their experienced guide, guests can learn about endemic flora and fauna thriving in the area, as well as how the stunning alpine lakes where formed. With plenty of photo opportunities of the lakes, Western Faces and the historic alpine huts, this hike has so much to offer.
After an afternoon tea at the stunning Blue Lake, guests head back toward Charlotte Pass via a rock hop across the famous Snowy River. Guests will then be greeted by a brand new Defender that will take them back to Thredbo.

Mt. Townsend Hike
Sitting only 19m below the elevation of Mt. Kosciuszko, Mt. Townsend is often mistaken for Australia’s highest peak! Offering unparalleled views over Mt. Sentinel and the western faces, this hike is quickly becoming a favourite amongst avid hikers.
A 21km return hike, with a rock scramble section to the summit, this hike is one of our more challenging offerings, making it perfect for your adventure bucket list.

Aries Tor Hike
Aptly named our most photogenic hike, the scenery on the Aries Tor Hike must be seen to be believed! Wander amongst fields of flowers and take photos from spectacular spots from each summit of the Ramshead Range.
With the help of our expert guides, guests will learn all about how the landscape was once used and how it was shaped into what it is today. This hike is truly a visual marvel with the pristine reflection pools shadowed by the ancient towering tors.
Guests can choose between a daytime hike to the Aries Tors or a night time hike for sunset!
