85cm in 5 days!
Posted on 27 Jul, 2016 in Festivals & Events
Conditions just keep on getting better. Consecutive cold fronts over the last five days have resulted in 85cm of fresh, dry snow across the resort.
Freezing temperatures as well as strong winds have given us some beautifully light and dry snow, top to bottom on Australia’s longest runs.
“It’s as if we are skiing some of Japan’s finest, I just can’t get over the quality of the snow!” Reggae Elliss, MountainWatch.
100% of the resort is open with something to be found for every level and ability, from first-timers to seasoned professionals. Off-piste was the pick with wind-blown areas like The Bluff, Michael’s Mistake and Golf Course the go to for the more advanced. Intermediate riders had a great mix of fresh and groomed runs to choose from around the Cruiser Area while the beginners down on Friday Flat were grateful for the soft snow to learn the basics on.
We couldn’t be in a better position coming into August with a solid base, a stacked schedule of events and activities including the Mumm Top to Bottom and Transfer Banked Slalom plus more snow incoming next week!
