School Holidays Adventure Festival
Posted on 12 Jan, 2016 in Festivals & Events
Holidays can be a blur, you can’t keep track of what day it is and a day can seem like a year to keep the kids busy. For the families who were at Thredbo for the School Holidays Adventure Festival over the Christmas and New Years period, we had the parents’ back covered.
The School Holidays Adventure festival had a huge amount of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Slack lining, trampoline sessions, treasure hunts, skate park workshops, mountain bike pump track sessions, arts and crafts, rock-climbing, face painting and lots more.
There was plenty to do keeping the whole family flat out trying to keep up. We still had our bobsleds, swimming pool with waterslide and mission inflatable and the Kosciuszko Express running that is all included in the Thredbo All Mountain Pass.
Families could ride to the top of the Kozzi Express chair to downhill on a bike or take a leisurely walk to the to the top of Australia. With the Wild flowers still out, it makes it the best time of year to put on your walking shoes and get out in the mountains.
On New Years Eve we welcomed The Fool Factory to take to the stage with their amazing fire shows and stunts with Solid State Circus. Playing along side were the African inspired drumming group Drumassault, their beats got all the kids up dancing (along with some groovy parents). With the huge bundles of flames rolling around the village square and the drums going off it will be a cool New Years eve memory for kids and grown ups. After the fire show came to a hot end, we introduced the Figmentz, a cover band from the south coast, playing their favourite cover songs everyone was up and dancing well into the New Year.
Happy 2016 Everyone.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
