Anna’s 3 Best Spots to Hit on a Fresh Snow Day
Posted on 24 Aug, 2016 in Festivals & Events
1. Golf Course Bowl
This is my number one place to hit when Ullr blesses Thredbo with a fresh blanket of snow. Golf Course is tucked away on the very far skiers right of the resort. To get the most out of your run, head up the Basin T-Bar, then over and up to the top of Karels. From here, traverse far right and follow the signs to Golf Course. There are a multitude of lines down this zone, with the top perfect for wide open turns and the bottom ripe with fun little wind lips, tree skiing and rock drops. This area can keep me occupied all day!
2. Bush Ranger
You will find this sneaky little tree run just off the side of the Village Trail. Head up Kozi Chair then take the skiers left, down towards Black Sallees Restaurant. Duck under the top station of Snowgum chair and into the trees on your left. There are a million ways to make your way down, but for me the best route is that with the least tracks. Whichever way you do decide, you can’t go wrong and will eventually hit the Village Trail at the bottom.
3. The Bluff
The Bluff, located to the skiers right of Kozi chair, boasts some of Thredbo’s steeper terrain. The rocks at the top are prime for dropping off when there’s a soft landing and if you head further skiers right, there’s often a wind lip feature formed, which is fun for slashing and/ or launching! This area is best when there’s good visibility, but on a stormy pow day, those with the tenacity to ride in a white out will probably get fresh tracks.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
