There ain’t no sunset like a Corona Sunset – featuring the Preatures
Posted on 29 Sep, 2017
Looking back on the season, there was one afternoon of après that had us preachhhinn’: the Corona Sunset series featuring the Preatures. There’s nothing quite like coming off the mountain to a poolside après event, and it’s something that only Thredbo knows how to do. Corona brought one of Australia’s biggest artists – The Preatures – along with Polish Club, James Mack from The Groove Academy and DJ Radge for a night of drinks, tunes and vibes…exactly what we needed after a big day out on the mountain.
After a week of bluebird weather and awesome snow conditions, everyone had been going hard on the mountain all week, and the timing for this après sesh couldn’t have been better. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up a week of shredding by cracking open a cold one by the firepit, asking yourself whether or not you have the guts to jump into the steaming hot spa (there were a few takers!).
But this wasn’t a put-your-feet-up type event, and we all know that after a week of going hard, the only way to wrap it up is by going even harder! James Mack kicked it off with some hands-up house, with things starting to heat up when the “sweatiest duo in Sydney”, Polish Club, brought their sped-up pop to the stage, along with DJ Radge.
The night really got going when our earholes were lucky enough to be blessed by the heavenly tunes that is the sound of The Preatures – an awesome band who are marking their name on the Australian music scene. Following a hugely successful first album, they’ve just dropped their second (which is already hugely talked about) and we were lucky enough to get a preview of their tunes before they hit their national tour…except we got it all for free! Powerful vocals and an insane atmosphere had us adding our name to their ever-growing list of fans, which includes the likes of Harry Styles and Pink.
Cheers to Corona for bringing us yet another memorable night in Thredbo, and though the sun is setting on this season, there will be plenty of time and many more sunsets on the après horizon next season….bring it on!
