Today was a POW day…

Posted on 19 Jul, 2017

That’s right…last night we received 30cm of fresh, dry and light snow up the top of the mountain accompanied by some friendly North Westerly winds…leaving the mountain looking like a white blank canvas ready to be ripped…yeeeha!

The day started cold with a strong cloud and snow flurries settling over the mountain, flat light left early risers confused as to how much snow had really accumulated up the top of the mountain. However, as the sun began to rise and the mountain light up under the golden sky, every skier and snowboarder in Thredbo…powder day!

Best runs of the day were the Bluff, Central Spur and Cruiser area, all boasting lots of windblown stashes for everyone to get their fare share of powder turns and leg burns. The smiles on everyone faces once exiting each turn was priceless…from mini-shredders to seasoned locals, everyone was stoked on all the snow to play in today.

The best news is that it’s going to keep getting better and better with more snow in the forecast throughout the week and then blue skies to enjoy a fun weekend ahead. Check out the weather report here to stay informed on the incoming snow and see you up here for some fun!
