Thredbo Backcountry Tours…To the Top of Australia!

Thanks to receiving over 220cm of snow so far this season, conditions are as good as they get in the backcountry at the moment! Guests have been loving the tours and the incredible out of resort adventure you can experience in a day…plus score some freshies and steeper terrain!

On Friday 24 August, a tour went out with some of The North Face’s athletes to the top of Kosciuszko…one of the most popular tours that guests love to do!

If you love to ski or snowboard and want to add another adventure to your list, the tour to Kosciuszko is a must do! Mt Kosciuszko is Australia’s highest peak, sitting at 2,228 metres and is also one of the iconic seven summits…awesome.

Conditions were perfect for the tour with minimal wind, blue skies and fresh show to enjoy on the descent….

The walk out is stunning…there’s nothing more enjoyable than hiking through the vast and expansive Australian Main Range…hunting for lines and enjoying the incredible views on offer.

Once the crew made it to the top of Kozzie, it was time for a scenic lunch and a quick selfie before the big descent down Australia’s highest peak…

The snow was great for skiing and boarding the fun and wide line down, with fresh stashes to found everywhere…the crew could not wipe the smile of their face :).
