Weekend Wrap: Blue Skies, Après Vibes and Mini Shred Galore
Posted on 15 Jul, 2018
Does the weekend really have to end? Reallyyy? That was one for the books with nothing but blue skies, afternoon après delight and over 300 kids turn up for the best Torah Bright Mini Shred yet!
Saturday morning was one of the best sunrises we’ve seen…ever! The blue skies arrived and were not going anywhere all weekend! All runs we’re perfectly groomed with a nice top up of snowmaking across the mountain on Friday night.
The Corona bar was the place to hang and enjoy a post groomer schooner, with the Corona DJ on the decks keeping the weekend vibes in full effect. From 3-7pm poolside was pumping with Thredbo’s favourite band 19 Twenty shaking up the snowy mountains like never before thanks to Kosciuszko Pale Ale.
While the party was happening at the bottom of the mountain, the flare run was in full effect on the mountain as hundreds of skiers and snowboarders enjoyed a magical run under the alpine night sky down the Supertrail, this is a must do!
Sunday was all about getting your shred on in the sun! The Torah Bright Mini Shred absolutely went off with a bang with more than 300 kids enjoying an inspiring day of shredding with some Australian Winter Olympic legends.
All Mini-Shredders walked away with a tonne of new skills, selfies with their hero’s, awesome prizes, bragging rights, limited edition mini shred bibs and more thanks to Rhythm Snow Sports, Roxy and Toyota. The biggest takeaway of the day however was all the new snowboard and ski tricks to keep working on throughout winter. Torah’s aim of the day was to show all kids the fun associated with progression and learning a new manoeuvre.
“This really is an awesome day for both parents and kids, I can’t believe our son is meeting all of his idols and riding with them” – Andrew & Sarah Lesslie
