What a weekend! From the iconic Top to Bottom race to a huge powder party on Sunday, with a heap of après celebrations in between thanks to G.H Mumm…it was a must not miss weekend in Thredbo!
The Top to Bottom celebrations kicked off on Friday afternoon with Sweet Mix Kids putting on one of the best sets of the season! Pumping up the crowd next level with their mix of tunes from various decades, not to mention the incredible light show!
Saturday morning delivered a different kind of light show…all Top to Bottom competitors were greeted with an incredible sunrise to kick start the fun filled weekend ahead! The course was perfect for sharp edges, long turns and fast paced action…
This was the 28th running of the iconic Top to Bottom race, there were a total of 286 competitors across eight categories racing to the finish line for their share of the $25,000 in cash and prizes. The event saw a stacked field of current and past Olympians along with everyday riders ranging in ages 18 to over 70 years…an incredible gathering of adrenaline junkies.
Come Saturday afternoon, the storm rolled in and delivered 10cm of fresh for the afternoon shredders to revel in…there were big fat flakes falling right down to the village!
Saturday night was all about the après celebrations…Mumm hosted their Red Sash Sets at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel for the biggest party of winter! Racers, spectators and guests all enjoyed the pumping beats from Sweet Mix Kids, Motez and one of Thredbo’s all time favourites, Hayden James!
It was the ultimate party with non-stop champagne showers, Australia’s best artists and dumping snow! Après at it’s best…
Sunday kicked off with 30cm of fresh snow blanketing the mountain…POWDER DAY! Weekend warriors were stoked to score freshies all day. The best spots to hit were the Bluff, Powder Bowl plus all the endless stashes to be found in Bushranger!
A great weekend celebrating the iconic Top to Bottom race…plus scoring some freshies. There’s more snow in the forecast for this week…bring it on.
