Weekly Wrap: Great early season conditions!
Posted on 22 Jun, 2019
It was another cracker week here in Thredbo, with sunshine, blue skies and non-stop snowmaking.
Temperatures took a dive this week, putting the snow makers to work and firing up the snow machines. With temperatures dipping well below zero, the guns were in full force, making for some of our biggest nights of snowmaking so far this season.
The slopes were topped up with fresh layers of snow, giving skiers and boarders a chance to enjoy those good early season conditions.
The weather gods were kind, keeping the skies mostly clear, and even throwing in snow flurries throughout the day on Friday.
The groomers were hard at work, pushing tonnes of snow and smoothing out all the open trails, ready for the crowds to carve up the mountain.
The good news kept coming all week, with the reopening of The Cruiser areas on Thursday and High Noon just in time for the weekend. Intermediate skiers flocked to the High Noon for a long ride down the mountain, and blue run riders had some fun around the Cruiser areas.
Jibbers also celebrated with the opening of the Cruiser terrain park on Saturday, with a heap of new features to play with. Crowds shredded through the park, taking advantage of the five jib options and the two rad jumps.
The good vibes continued into the weekend, with crowds having a cheeky Saturday beverage, indulging in a hot chocolate, and having a bit of boogie to the weekend tunes.
