Weekly Wrap: Amazing conditions to wrap up August
Posted on 1 Sep, 2019
It was the perfect week to get out and explore, with mostly sunny days and a fresh sprinkle of snow on Wednesday and Thursday.
The winds were mostly light this week, giving riders the perfect weather to carve up the slopes, with 100% of our lifts open and a mountain of terrain to explore.
There were low overnight temps, which allowed snowmaking to fire up across the mountain and freshened up the slopes.
It was great week of riding, with the Central Spur areas a favourite for those more advanced riders. Intermediates had lots of fun around the Cruiser areas, as well as Supertrail and Highnoon. And those beginners and little snow bunnies found their feet on Friday Flat.
Karels and Basin were also a favourite with riders this week, offering stunning views of the mountain.
The competition heated up this week with competitors of all ages taking part in Snow Series Slopestyle. Skiers and boarders brought their A-game as they shredded their way through a jam packed course of jumps and rails.
It was the perfect week to end an amazing August in Thredbo.
