MyThredbo Kids Art Series
Posted on 24 Jun, 2020 in Community
This year the MyThredbo Card artwork celebrates community with the 2020 MyThredbo Kids Art series!
Community, colour and gondolas were the call of the day with homegrown talent from Kindergarten to Year 6 from Jindabyne Central School and Snowy Mountains Grammer School creating mini masterpieces with the theme ‘Gondola’ for the 2020 MyThredbo Card Design Competition.
8-year-old Sophie from Jindabyne Central School was thrilled to learn her imaginative design was the winner. Her creative painting is front and centre on the new 2020 MyThredbo Card and features brightly-coloured gondolas against a brightly hued mountain backdrop. Her picture was the perfect choice for this year’s artwork, channeling her love of the Thredbo ski fields and her excitement at the building of the new gondola.
Sophie’s masterpiece is in great company. Each year, the MyThredbo card design is commissioned to artists who have a strong affiliation with Thredbo, showcasing the area’s awesome talent and the unique relationship each artist holds with the mountain. Past MyThredbo card alumni include inaugural artist Brad Spalding, Archibald prize finalist Zoe Young, canvas board creator Imants Tillers and the internationally recognised Andrew ‘Grassi’ Kelaher.
With so many great entries it was really hard to choose just one! Check out some of the top entries below.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
