The Storm Of The Season
Posted on 23 Aug, 2020 in On the Slopes
Skiers and snowboarders have enjoyed the storm of the season here in Thredbo with plenty of powder turns and wind blown stashes on offer across the resort this week.
Friday evening saw the biggest snowfalls of the storm with 30cm of fresh snow awaiting riders on Saturday. We had an extra 10cm of fresh snow overnight to bring our storm total to more than 80cm since Tuesday evening.
The snowpack has been in excellent condition with the snow light and dry for beautiful powder turns.
Experienced riders couldn’t wait for those fresh tracks in The Bowl in The Cruiser area with the adventurous loving shredding the powder in the Bluff and down Bushranger in the Crackenback area.
While first-timers have been enjoying those soft turns at our dedicated beginner’s area Friday Flat all week.
Snow showers are forecast to continue for the rest of this evening with moderate winds drifting snow across the resort to keep things fresh and set us up for another great day on the mountain tomorrow!

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
