Thredbo’s Summer Season Kicked Off With a Bang!

Thredbo’s summer season kicked off on Saturday with blue skies and good vibes! Thredbo was buzzing all weekend long as hikers and bikers enjoyed awesome weather, live music, upgraded mountain biking trails and stunning views.
The Thredbo mountain crew’s trail upgrades served up the summer stoke as riders got the first laps on Thredbo Mountain Bike Park’s perfectly sculpted berms and dialed in trails. Keen mountain bikers hit the new jumps and features in the Valley Terminal Park and Little Beauty Jumps Park plus clocked up the laps on crowd favourites Kosciuszko Flow Trail, Ricochet and the Cannonball Downhill.
The ride up was almost as good as the ride down as riders enjoyed uplifts on both the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift and the Gunbarrel Express Chairlift on Saturday and Sunday. Better yet, the Gunbarrel Express chair will be open more often this season, running every weekend and throughout the school holidays.
This season’s opening was extra special as Thredbo Mountain Park is celebrating 30 Years of Gravity…check out the three-part action packed video series here!
The weather was also perfect for outdoor adventurers keen to check out the stunning alpine’s wide open spaces. Mt Kosciuszko was the pick of the day with the bucket list hike rewarding hikers of all ages and abilities with sweeping views from the top of Australia.
To cap off a weekend of exploring hikers and bikers soaked up the afternoon sunshine and live music at the free Great Southern Nights gigs at the Alpine Bar.
