Kicking off the festival was a HUGE Easter weekend jam-packed with activities, entertainment and a whole lot of tasty goodies to be won.
Australia’s only alpine gondola made a return to action, transporting guests to Merritts for live music and good vibes; some lucky bunnies even scored themselves a surprise Lindt Chocolate basket as they hopped onto select cabins.
On deck, local favourite Mark Travers sung tunes while guests devoured scrumptious mountain-top food and drink from the sun-soaked Corona Bar and Merritts Mountain House. With prime conditions for new comers and seasoned vets, mountain bikers could catch tunes as they echoed across the mountain while those on the All-Mountain Trail could ride straight into the action.
The party didn’t stop with the weekend that was.
Thredbo’s MTB Skills park played host to some serious racing by the next gen of shredders. Racing against themselves, groms were timed and asked to beat their personal best with prizes handed out for biggest time margin shaved, highest air, longest skid and crowd favourite, the cutest basket.
Run by the Thredbo MTB Department, mini races included coaches on hand so kids could be instructed and guided through a timed course which included bumps, humps and the odd push up. Thanks to all competitors for turning up, giving it a go, and having fun! Two lucky little winners even scored themselves brand-spanking new Vuly bikes by tagging #ThredboVuly.
Getting green, Burton and Keep It Cool partnered up with Thredbo to plant over 250 trees across the school holidays. With plenty of little green hands willing to jump on board, learn some gardening tips and find out how to take care of our planet, the tree planting program was a huge success!
Some lucky little gardeners were even rewarded with prizes from the Burton store with winning tags hidden amongst seedlings.
Taking to four wheels, Land Rover Defender Experiences had people navigating off-road up Kosciusko mountain tackling alpine terrain and watching the sunset from Australia’s Highest Mountain. Littlies didn’t have to miss out on the 4WD action with mini electric Defenders giving kids a chance to feel the need for speed around a custom-built course.
This wasn’t all the fun either, check out the gallery below for more good times!
