This mornings cold temps and fresh white alpine remind us winter is just around the corner, and, with this comes a certain level of excitement for the season ahead.
Possibly a mirror ball into an incredible season to come, could this mornings blanket be a good sign?
Ben Domensino seems to think so in his long-range report for weatherzone.
“When we combine a neutral Pacific Ocean, a neutral or negative Indian Ocean Dipole and the prospect of negative swings in the Southern Annular Mode this winter, the outlook suggests that we should see near to above-average snow in the Australian alps this season.”
With more snowfall expected for the mountain on Friday and cool temperatures seemingly here to stay, we think he is pretty on the money.
The countdown is on for Thredbo’s Opening Weekend!
Knowing more of the good stuff is on the way, stoke for the winter season was felt around the village and with Opening Weekend set to kick off the season with skiing, snowboarding, après and all-round good vibes, the countdown is on.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
