Pure Gravity At New Heights
Thredbo MTB Park is taking Pure Gravity riding to new heights this summer with over forty kilometres of the country’s best terrain and the launch of three new trails designed for skill progression.
Kicking off on 19 November 2022 and running through to 25 April 2023, we’re launching a massive park expansion this MTB season with exciting developments that mean riders will get even more time experiencing the thrill of pure gravity.
MTB Park | What's New
As well as the return of everyone’s favourite trails, the MTB Park will be expanding this summer with the new Cruiser area, launching three new gravity trails for beginners and intermediates; Paparazzi, Grasshopper and Easy Rider. Not only does Thredbo offer Australia’s only lift-accessed gravity riding with four lifts operating throughout the season, but the new trails will now see the MTB Park cover over forty kilometres of terrain!
Did someone say more time on the track? To maximise riding time, the Cruiser Chairlift and Gunbarrel Chairlift will both have new state-of-the-art bike carriers installed, increasing Gunbarrel’s uplift capacity by over forty per cent. Plus riders can look forward to experiencing a revamp of the current network including trail realignments and rebuilds, progressive jump and skill parks and a huge range of clinics and programs for all ages.
Ready To Race | Non-Stop Events
Thredbo’s MTB events calendar is non-stop this summer with exhilarating races for everyone from the amateurs to the pros.
Set to be a massive highlight, the 2023 National MTB Championships will be integrated with the 9th Cannonball MTB Festival presented by Boost Mobile for the first time ever from 8 – 18 February 2023. Creating ten consecutive days of high energy racing, the stakes will be higher than ever with a $100,000 prize pool and the chance for competitors in Downhill and Pumptrack to take out both the Cannonball and National Championship titles in one race.
For even more competition, the Thredbo Gravity Series presented by Boost Mobile offers a range of race events for all levels scheduled throughout summer and for the younger riders, The Australian MTB Interschools is set to take place from 13 to 17 March 2023.
To see how the pros do it, make sure to keep an eye out for Thredbo’s ambassadors like Jack Moir, Sian A’Hern and Kye A’Hern when you’re on the course! Plus, the action won’t be stopping on the track with a massive line-up of live music and entertainment running throughout the season.
