Thredbo Wins Australia’s Best Ski Resort fifth year in a row!

Thredbo has won Australia’s Best Ski Resort at the World Ski Awards for the fifth year in a row.

The World Ski Awards celebrates excellence in ski tourism and every year attracts votes from hundreds of thousands of travel professionals and skiers across the globe.

Thredbo attracted a high number of votes for its series of brand new experiences, Australia’s only alpine Gondola and its variety of terrain for all abilities.

It was the first year Thredbo offered its guests a selection of unique on-mountain experiences, including Snowcat Dinners at either the famous Kareela Hutte or Merritts Mountain House. Guests were also able to have a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, heading up for sunrise and first tracks as part of the Sunrise Sessions.

Boasting the longest runs in the country, Thredbo offers skiers and snowboarders a range of terrain, as well as access to the highest lifted point in Australia at 2037 metres elevation. Adventurers can tour to the highest summit in the country Mt Kosciuszko on Thredbo’s Backcountry Adventures.

Off the slopes, Thredbo offers a choice of different après events including live music and DJs, exceptional food and wine at the variety of restaurants, and fireworks and flare runs to entertain the whole family!
