We’re about to celebrate ten years of the iconic Cannonball MTB Festival presented by Boost Mobile!
Marking a decade of Australia’s largest mountain biking festival, Cannonball MTB Festival will return to take over Thredbo MTB Park from Monday 12 – Saturday 17 February 2024.
In honour of the tenth year, we’re going bigger and better by adding a brand-new Maxxis Dual Slalom race to the event schedule. A crowd-favourite that is set to appeal to riders across the country and worldwide, the new Maxxis Dual Slalom will take this year’s total number of action-packed events to six.
Other highly-anticipated events returning to the lineup include the Fox Flow Motion Cup, the Osprey All-Mountain Assault, the Rockshox Pump Track Challenge, the invite only Deity Whip Wars and the Oakley Australian Open Downhill.
Next year, the Oakley Australian Open Downhill will also double as round two of the AusCycling DH National Series. The combining of both races will see even more heated racing as competitors fight for National Series points in addition to the Cannonball title and a huge stack of cash and prizes in one singular race.
There’s a lot on the line for riders with $120,000 cash and prize purse plus the highly sought after titles of Cannonball King and Queen.
The action won’t stop on the track either! It is the perfect event for spectators and competitors alike with incredible high-energy racing to watch in addition to a huge lineup of activations, daily live music and non-stop good times.
To close out the festival on Saturday February 17, there will be a huge party at Alpine Bar with a live performance from a headliner special guest . Stay tuned across our channels for the announcement of the special headline act announcement soon!
We can’t wait to celebrate 10 years of Cannonball with you! Registration is now open.

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
