Ready, Set, Shred!

It’s all in the planning! Make sure you’ve booked the kids in for skiing and snowboarding lessons. Watch them improve their skills, make new friends and have a blast with our outstanding team of instructors.

Lessons aren’t just for the kids either! If you’ve been thinking about fine-tuning your form, make sure to book a Private Lesson or an Adult Group Lesson while the kids do theirs.

When you’re ready for some family laps all together, enjoy some cruisy runs down Easy Does It at Friday Flat and Walkabout in the Cruiser Area.

Next up, be sure to register the kids to ride with their heroes at Project Shred powered by The Chumpy Pullin Foundation. On Saturday July 15, the Cruiser Terrain Park will become the ultimate kid-friendly riding zone for this brand-new skiing and snowboarding event.

Our crew of Olympians and professional athletes will spend the day with the next generation, teaching them all their tricks on the snow and then hosting a workshop to share all their secrets to success AND happiness. With t-shirts, athlete signings, live music, giveaways and prizes, Project Shred is the perfect family day out!

Magical Family Evenings

Après isn’t just for adults! During school holidays, our family-friendly entertainment and activity line-up is jam-packed.

With music, dancing, games and prizes, Thredboland animal hugs, a fireworks show and a kids-only flare run, our Thursday night Family Fun Nights are not to be missed! Hot tip for the parents? Pop into Friday Flat Bistro for cheeky schnapps to enjoy while you watch the kids and their instructors ski down with LED flares.

After a big day on the slopes, head to the Friday Flat firepits where kids can make free Lindt Chocolate S’mores every afternoon between Thursday and Sunday. Plus on select evenings, be sure to book our Kids-Only Movie Nights in the Townsend Room. Drop the kids off for popcorn and a movie under the care of our professional staff while you enjoy some mum-and-dad time!

On Saturday night, make sure to find a good spot to watch the famous Flare Run & Fireworks Spectacular that brings the mountain to life at 6 PM. This an iconic Thredbo tradition to cap off a magical week in the snow!

Off Snow Fun

The action doesn’t stop on the mountain! If you want to mix it up, head to Thredbo Leisure Centre for a workout, a swim, a game of table tennis, trampoline sessions or to take on Mission Inflatable. To try something new, how about a family-friendly game of disc golf?

Plus, we’ll have Giant Games outside Friday Flat Bistro every day to keep the kids entertained at every moment.

The Kids Menu Please!

The ultimate family dining spots? On the mountain, you can’t go past hot chocolates at Merritts Mountain House, the new pizza and spritz menu at Eagles Nest or the hearty Japanese-style meals at Black Sallees. If you’ve managed to sneak some adult-only time, make sure to make a booking for a luxurious European lunch at Kareela Hutte.

In the village, families can grab a quick lunch to-go at The Bakery or head to The Local Pub for a casual yet delicious and filling meal.

Our tip? On Saturday nights, book in for an early dinner at Cascades Restaurant to catch the best view of the weekly fireworks and flare run at 6 PM. Other great family-friendly restaurants in the village are The Mad Mexican, Candlelight Lodge and T-Bar Restaurant.
