Thredbo MTB Park Wraps Up A Legendary Season, And Gears Up For Even More In 2025

That’s a wrap! Thredbo MTB Park has officially closed the curtain on another awesome summer season.
But don’t worry, the trails won’t stay quiet for long. Thredbo MTB Park has announced it will reopen to riders on November 15, 2025, and next season is shaping up to be even bigger.

A Season to Remember
“This season was another one for the books,” said Tim Windshuttle, Thredbo’s MTB Business Manager. “From watching the next generation dominate at Interschools to seeing the big names return for Cannonball MTB Festival, there’s no denying that Thredbo MTB Park is a world-class mountain biking destination.”
Riders this season were treated to new favourites like Bobshred and Revolver, both quickly becoming hits thanks to their variety, and progression plus the newly introduced Flow section also delivered a smooth, fast ride from top to bottom.
Going Out With a Bang
The season ended with a bang… literally. Saturday’s Maxxis Chainless Champs, the final event in the Gravity Series presented by Fox, brought out serious race faces and silly costumes. With no chains allowed, racers relied on gravity, skill, and a little bit of flair to get them across the line. Afterward, riders celebrated in true Thredbo style with a huge party at The Local Pub.
Sunday delivered all-time trail conditions for one last shred session, giving everyone a perfect send-off until next summer.
Looking Forward
Thredbo isn’t hitting the brakes anytime soon. Big developments are rolling in for the 2025–26 summer season, promising more features, more flow, and more reasons to ride.
NEW trail alert: Stay tuned for more details as a new trail is coming to the Cruiser area.
Ricochet Overhaul: A reimagined upper section will now launch from the top of the Gunbarrel Chairlift, bringing a faster, smoother ride with more flow.
Grasshopper Rebuild: Expect small jumps and playful features as this trail gets a major refresh focused on fun and progression.
Double Black Diamond Race Track (NEW): For the elite (and the brave), construction begins on a brand-new double black trail dropping from the top of Merritts Gondola to Friday Flat. With steep and technical terrain, it’s set to challenge even the most seasoned riders.
