The Blizzard of Oz 3 is on our doorstep and ready to unload one of the best spring snow events in years. By this time next week, there are pretty good chances that we will have 1m+ of fresh powder to get stuck into…
It’s shaping up to be an epic spring with a late season dump on the way next week. With the potential for up to 70cm of fresh powder on the forecast, could this be the Blizzard of Oz 3.0?
We’re in for a run extended run of mostly sunny days this week with light winds… This is just a taste of what’s to come as we head into spring!
The mountain is looking as good as ever with light, dry conditions from top to bottom. With a couple of fronts on the way, we can expect a few flurries and chilly temperatures keeping the snow quality top notch!
We’ve seen some trying conditions over the past few days here at Thredbo, but fear not, the #BlizzardOfOz2.0 is bearing down! We’re looking down the barrel of 30-60cm of fresh snow by the weekend with some epic pow days to follow
Over 130cm of fresh powder fell between Thursday night and Monday night followed by a spectacular bluebird day on Tuesday for us all to get out there and get stuck into it.
Early next week is looking promising, with snow falls to 1200m on Tuesday. All up, our fingers are crossed for 5-15cm during Monday and Tuesday with bonus snow blowing in off the main range.
A series of fronts are due to move over southeastern Australia over the weekend, with snow showers expected to develop over the higher peaks late on Saturday evening and into Sunday. At first, snow flurries should fall to around 1600m in gusty northwesterly breezes before winds swing west/southwesterly and colder air moves in on Monday morning.
