FAQs

Thredbo’s Village Race Series is designed to be a fun event. Each week door prizes will be randomly drawn, meaning everyone has a chance of winning prizes, not just the fastest. Team scores will be calculated and announced each week. Individual placings in each division will also be announced.

Team points will be accrued over the 6 races. The team with the highest points wins the series.

Individual Worldcup points will also be accrued over the 6 races and Thredbo’s overall fastest in each division awarded.

Individual registrations close at 5pm the night before.

$400 per team. This pays for between 3-5 racers per event for 6 events.

$150 per individual for 6 events.

No portion of any unused team fee is refundable.

All entries are eligible for weekly lucky door prizes and receive one free drink at the post race party.

  1. Get together a team of between 3 – 5 racers.
  2. Select a team captain
  3. Team captain to register team and pay online
  4. Once payment has been received, a link to waiver will be sent to team captain for all team members to sign

Individuals are also eligible to enter the series and need to register by 1pm the day before the event. Entries TBC.

Each team can have between 3 – 5 team members. A team’s top three scores are added to calculate the team’s points.

In each division points will be awarded as follows:

  •       1st – 10 points
  •       2nd – 9 points
  •       3rd – 8 points
  •       4th – 7 points
  •       5th – 6 points
  •       6th – 5 points
  •       7th – 4 points
  •       8th – 3 points
  •       9th – 2 points

All further finishers – 1 point

In each division, the highest place getter in each team will be awarded full points. Subsequent team members in the same division will be awarded half points.

The top 3 point scores for each team will be added to calculate the team total.

Eg: Team A. 1st Alpine male <50 (10 points), 3rd Alpine male <50 (8/2 = 4 points), 4th Alpine female (7 points), 5th telemark female (6 points).

In this example the team points taken will be 1st Alpine male (10), 4th Alpine female (7), 5th telemark female (6), for a team total of 23 points.

Eg: Team B. 6th Alpine male <50 (5 points), 7th Alpine female 50+ (4 points), 3rd female snowboard (8 points), 4th female snowboard (7/2 = 3.5 points). Team total = 17 points

Yes you can! Individuals need to register by 1pm the day before the event.

Individual entries for a single event will not be eligible for Worldcup points, but will be eligible for door prizes that day.

Each week World Cup Points are awarded in each division as follows:

  • 1st – 100
  • 2nd – 80
  • 3rd – 60
  • 4th – 50
  • 5th – 40
  • 6th – 30
  • 7th – 20
  • 8th – 10
  • 9th – 5
  • 10th – 1

Overall champion calculated for each division based on the total points over the 6 race season.

In the event of an injury to a team member (during the race series), you are allowed to substitute the injured team members’ roster spot for the rest of the season. The original team member will forfeit for the remainder of the series.

In the event that a team member is sick (one off) you are allowed to substitute the sick team members’ roster spot.

This may be done once per team.

Any changes to team members must be made no later than 1pm the day before a race.
