RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING SKIING, SNOWBOARDING, USING LIFTS & ALPINE COASTER, MOUNTAIN BIKING AND TO A LESSER DEGREE HIKING) INVOLVE A SIGNIFICANT RISK OF PHYSICAL HARM OR PERSONAL INJURY INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY AND/OR DEATH TO PARTICIPANTS. ANY SUCH INJURY MAY RESULT NOT ONLY FROM YOUR ACTIONS BUT FROM THE ACTION, OMISSION OR NEGLIGENCE OF OTHERS.
Terms and Conditions of Use
Issued by Kosciuszko Thredbo Pty Ltd (referred to throughout as ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’) as operator of the Thredbo Alpine Resort (‘Resort’ or ‘Thredbo’).
If, on a declared Severe Weather Day, If no scans are recorded on the pre-purchased date based product, the Known Guest will be eligible to receive a Severe Weather Customer Service 1 Day Lift Pass valid for any day of the current or following season.
1. A determination will be made prior to 8.30am that the day is likely to be impacted by severe weather and a message to check lift status is published on thredbo.com.au, Thredbo social media channels, displayed at all points of sale and all guests with valid lift product notified by SMS.
2. A determination will be made prior to lifts operating on a Severe Weather Day and published on thredbo.com.au and displayed at all points of sale that replacement day lift passes will be available to eligible guests. Guests with a scenic or mountain bike date-based lift product with a provided mobile phone number on file will be notified by SMS that if the date based lift product is un-scanned, a Severe Weather Customer Service 1 day lift pass will be loaded at the close of business.
3. Guests with Season Passes, un-scanned Severe Weather Customer Service Days are not eligible for a Severe Weather Customer Service 1 day lift pass.
4. In the event that insufficient lifts are available for the Thredbo Mountain Bike School to conduct meaningful clinics or guests are unable to use their Mountain Bike rental equipment from Thredbo rental stores, guests will be eligible for a MyMoney credit for those pre-purchased products. A list of all lessons or clinics conducted on a Declared Severe Weather Day will be kept by the Thredbo Guest Services manager.
5. The Severe Weather Customer Service 1 day lift pass is valid for the remainder of the current or following season.
6. If no scans are recorded on the Known Guest’s access profile, a Severe Weather Replacement Day is automatically loaded at 5pm.
7. Upon receiving a Severe Weather Customer Service 1 day lift pass, the known guest will be notified via sms.
8. Definitions:
a) Severe weather conditions are conditions that, due to either the strength or direction of the wind, or presence of lightning in surrounding areas, or other weather events that make the operation of an aerial ropeway unsafe. In summer, heavy rain can close the Thredbo MTB Park.
b) Severe Weather Days are days that due to the presence or forecast for extreme weather conditions lift operations are likely to be severely impacted in terms of both the number of lifts operating and the lift operating hours that day.
c) Declared Severe Weather Day is a determination made by 8.30am and published on the Thredbo website and displayed at all points of sale that lift operations are likely to be adversely impacted.
d) Declared Customer Service Day is a determination made prior to lifts opening on a Declared Severe Weather Day and published on the Thredbo website that a Severe Weather Customer Service 1 day lift pass available to eligible guests.
e) Known Guest is a guest who has updated their personal details into the Thredbo customer database, either online or at a POS.
f) Date-Based is a date selected product, where the known guest selected the product start date and duration.
g) Un-Scanned is defined as no scans/uses on a chairlift, T-Bar or carpet lift.
h) Scanned is defined as one (1) or more scans/uses on a chairlift, T-Bar or carpet lift.

FORCE MAJEURE:
To the extent permitted by law, and subject to Thredbo’s Cancellation Policy, we will not be liable to you for any loss or damage (whether direct or consequential), nor be in default under these Terms and Conditions, for failure to observe or perform any of our obligations under these Terms and Conditions for any reason or cause which could not, with reasonable diligence, be controlled or prevented. These reasons or causes include any act of God, strike, lockout or other industrial disturbance or labour difficulty, act of public enemy, war (whether declared or not), blockade, revolution, riot, insurrection, civil commotion, pandemic, epidemic, outbreaks of infectious disease or any other public health crisis or any governmental orders or measures imposed to address such public health crisis, including quarantine or any other social restrictions, lightning, storm, flood, fire, earthquake or any other natural disaster or extreme weather condition, explosion, any action, inaction, demand, order, restraint, restriction, change in law, requirement, prevention, frustration or hindrance by or of any person, government or competent authority, embargoes, unavailability of any essential equipment, chemicals or other materials, unavoidable accident, lack of transportation and any other cause whether specifically referred to above or otherwise which is not within our reasonable control.
