Waste Collection

Thredbo is responsible for the collection of waste from the enclosures located outside each property. The pick up days work on a roster system, with each property being serviced between 3 and 7 times per week (depending upon the size and use of the premises).

Please understand that the Environmental Services department is also responsible for snow clearing and during extreme weather events there may be a collection delay.

General waste should be secured in plastic waste bags weighing no more than 10 kg. Loose waste in the enclosures will not be collected. It is the property owners’ or managers’ responsibility to keep the waste enclosure in a clean and serviceable state.

Help Us Reduce Waste-To-Landfill

As a village, Thredbo is aiming to reduce village waste to landfill by over 10% by 2026. Last year we all managed a total recycling rate of only 36% so we’re constantly looking for new ways to divert even more of our waste. Please help us help the local environment by separating and disposing of waste thoughtfully.
