Getting Here
Thredbo is located within the Kosciuszko National Park in the NSW Snowy Mountains and is open 365 days a year.
Driving
Most of our guests find it easiest to drive here. We’re located roughly 5.5 hours’ drive from either Sydney or Melbourne, and 2.5 hours’ drive from Canberra.
As we’re located in a national park, all vehicles are required to purchase a vehicle pass to enter Kosciuszko National Park. Day and multiday park entry passes can be purchased at the NPWS vehicle entry stations and the Thredbo Visitor Centre.
Plan ahead and buy your NPWS Annual All Parks Pass online at nswparkspass.info before arriving. The new digital passes are valid instantly from purchase. For discounted and concession annual passes please apply 3 days before entry to allow for eligibility checks.
Parking
Thredbo has a variety of car parks close to the village and mountain for both day visitors and overnight stays. For the best access we recommend parking at Friday Flat (P4), Thredbo’s main parking zone.
From the car park, Thredbo runs a free shuttle bus to take you around the village. During summer months, the shuttle bus only runs during school holidays.
Check out our parking map and tips for securing parking during peak periods.
