Windblown Stashes and Wombats!
Posted on 30 Aug, 2020 in On the Slopes
Skiers and snowboarders have enjoyed a string of beautiful bluebird days on the mountain this week with the best conditions we’ve had all season.
The storm of the season, which delivered 80cm of fresh snow last week, set us up with great coverage top to bottom with an extra 6cms of fresh snow falling on Thursday evening to keep things fresh! Riders were treated to really nice dry snow up high and plenty of windblown stashes all over the resort.
Even Thredbo’s resident wombats were loving the beautiful conditions on the mountain this week!
On Sunday, strong winds caused several lifts to go on windhold but that didn’t stop snowlovers from practicing their turns and enjoying the sunshine down at Friday Flat.
With winds easing tomorrow, we’re expecting a couple of sunny days early in the week to enjoy the slopes before a cold front moves in around Friday with the potential for more snow next weekend.
With September knocking at our door, we are looking forward to some great Spring time skiing and snowboarding!

Thredbo sits on the traditional land of the Monero – Ngarigo people who have looked after this land, water and community for over 60,000 years. We thank them for all they have done and continue to do to look after their country, a special place which we all love and respect.
